As a Registered Yoga Teacher, Kristen brings 20 years of teaching experience in all of yoga’s beautiful forms. Kristen’s certification came from Yoga Vermont in the practice of Ashtanga. But over the years, classes have included restorative, gentle flow, hatha, power yoga, couple’s yoga, vinyasa, ashtanga, and others. In any class, Kristen meets each student at their own level, offering variations for an easier or more challenging experience. This spring, Kristen is excited to add a Pilates twist to an “Awakening to April” yoga class. This class will feature upbeat motivating music, with a yoga flow, Pilates floor work, stretching and savasana. Consider it a coming-out-of-hibernation class, so bring your winter bear-belly, your friends, and your smiles. You will leave class feeling strengthened and empowered, and then after a hardy dinner at home, you should sleep very well that night.
As a Clinical Herbalist trained at Vermont Center for Integrative Herbalism, Kristen’s approach to wellness is simply meeting people where they are on their journey to better health, and offering herbal support along the way. Being proactive in maintaining health occurs in all aspects of life- mental, physical, environmental, emotional, and spiritual. Natural medicine can be in the power of herbal remedies, but also in experiencing the outdoors, meditating, yoga, creating art, helping others, loving ourselves, laughing and playing. Helping people look at health through this variety of lenses, and supporting them as they try new things, is very rewarding. Sharing the healing power of plants is particularly exciting for Kristen because it helps people develop a deep healing relationship with the plants and themselves; and a broader appreciation for nature and the powers that maintain us all.
